The lessons offered in this studio are based on practical methods derived from teachings by world-renowned violinists, experiences performing with top-tier musicians, daily performance activities, and extensive teaching experience.

The violin seems difficult, but how much practice is required?
Having worked with many students over the years, I've recently come to a realization: especially for adult students, practice time and improvement don't always correlate!
Of course, the more you review what you've learned in lessons and work on homework, the more you'll improve. However, the most important thing is having the right attitude towards music and yourself. As long as you have that, even those who are very busy and can hardly practice will steadily discover their own musicality.
For young children, even just 5 minutes a day of touching an instrument can make a huge difference, and they'll soon be able to play and enjoy it! It's okay if there are periods when they can't practice much, so it's great if family members can create a supportive atmosphere!
How much do musical instruments cost?
Even mass-produced instruments that are properly made will cost around 100,000 yen or so, including the instrument itself, bow, and case. (Children's sized instruments start at around 30,000 yen at list price. You can also sometimes find discounted used instruments at music stores, or acquire one cheaply from another student.)
When it comes to musical instruments, "compatibility" is more important than price. Please try playing the instrument yourself before purchasing! (You can't tell if it's a good fit just by looking at a catalog.)
Our music school can introduce you to reliable string instrument shops, and we do not charge any intermediary fees, so you can take your time and choose with peace of mind.
I'd like to know the target age range.
Children as young as three years old can start now.
I also give lessons to people around 80 years old.
The violin is basically an instrument that is played standing up, so anyone who is healthy enough to stand upright can play it (however, lessons may be conducted while seated for those who are not feeling well or who often play seated in orchestras, etc.).
How much sound leaks to the neighbors when you practice at home?
This varies considerably depending on the living environment.
Those who live in detached houses probably don't worry too much about the sound of their violin when they play it.
In apartment buildings and other multi-unit dwellings, some residents are concerned about disturbing their neighbors (this can vary considerably depending on the materials used for the building's walls and floors).
However, even if you live in a room with thin walls, most people can practice without any problems by using a violin mute or silencer.
As a rough guideline for volume, in normal use without a mute or silencer, it's probably about half the volume of a piano. Since you don't play the instrument with its surface touching the floor like a piano, almost no vibrations are transmitted.
Using a silencer will reduce the volume to about the level of a quiet conversation.
